Extracting Data points using Get Data Graph Digitizer

Image
GetData Graph Digitizer is open source software for digitizing graphs and plots. It is often necessary to obtain original (x,y) data from graphs, e.g. from scanned scientific plots, when data values are not available. GetData Graph Digitizer allows to easily get the numbers in such cases. Digitizing is a four step process: open a graph, set the scale (coordinate system), digitize (automatically or manually), and copy data to the clipboard, or export to TXT, XLS, XML, DXF or EPS file. Main features of GetData Graph Digitizer are: supported graphics formats are TIFF, JPEG, BMP and PCX; two algorithms for automatic digitizing; convenient manual digitizing; reorder tool for easy points reordering; save/open workspace, which allows to save the work and return to it later; obtained data can be copied to the clipboard; export to the formats: TXT (text file), XLS (MS Excel), XML, DXF (AutoCAD) and EPS (PostScript). Digitizing Weekly Epidemiological Reports (WER)

The WERs from 2007 onwards are available on epid unit website . The pdf and excel versions of WERs of 2005, 2006, 2014 - May 2019  are there in the  gdrive .  2005 -  Gdrive  link 2006 -  Gdrive  link Download the pdf and convert it to excel using ilovepdf.com . Please note that the WERs of 2005-2007 have considered the Northern and Eastern provinces together.

Climate Data Tool

The CDT is a tool that we shall use across FECT for work on data management.  A description is on the OSF page at  https://osf.io/9q4hw/contributors/ As you keep doing work, you can add to the OSF page - maybe create a component and go on from there.  Tufa Dinku and his collaborator at IRI - Rijas - put this together - they both have experience in working on Data in Ethiopia and Madagascar and have a Met Service past - while Tufa has worked on satellite data quality and data provision across Africa. I went for their seminar in Dec and Tufa sent his presentation file - shall find and put it the OSF page.  We shall use it for our climate analysis related  - storing daily met dept data harvested from the Met Site  - organizing daily, weekly, quarterly and annual data from WER, QER etc.  DV shall take the lead on this from the IT side - he has expertise in Data base. He shall look into how to upload the daily data from the m...
